Teacher Education
Aims
The Teacher Education section of the USC College of education seeks:
- To provide quality teacher education curricula in both undergraduate and graduate levels which will produce graduates who are imbued with Christian values and are professionally competent in various basic education disciplines;
- To maintain a Student Teaching Program and a Continuing Education Program responsive to the needs of pre-service and in-service teachers through classroom, school, and community experience;
- To undertake curriculum-related learning engagements that would develop morally and socially responsible teacher professionals as well as educational leaders qualified to manage schools and other educational institutions focusing on instruction, research and community extension;
- To strengthen the research capability of the Department by undertaking and publishing researches reflective of the regional, national, and global thrusts and innovations in education;
- To conduct academic fora involving faculty, students, and alumni with emphasis on interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary instructional and research methodologies;
- To be involved in local, national, and international professional and community development initiatives that enhance students, faculty, and alumni competencies and promote institutional linkages.
