Interest Groups
Dance Troupe
The USC Dance Troupe is a performing arts group which is under the Office of the Vice President for Administration as well as an interest group under the Physical Education Department. Its members are students coming from various colleges of the University who are chosen after undergoing a rigid training and audition.
The group plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of Philippine culture through exemplary performances of traditional dances in the local, national, and international community.

1991 – Volkerendag, sister city relations with Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands

1995 – Mainz Hilton, Germany
1996 – Sister City Relations with Yochon, South Korea
1997 – Sister City Relations with Kaoshiung, Taiwan
2000 – Sister City Relations with Seattle, USA
2002 – Floriade International Flower Festival in Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands
2002 – Singapore, International Trade Exhibition
2005 – Citrawarna Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
USC Dance Troupe awards:
May 1998 – The USC Dance Troupe was awarded by the National Philippine Folk Dance Society as “Bulawan Awardee” for the promotion of Filipino dances. Awarding was held at the Folk Arts Theater, CCP Complex, Metro Manila.
February 2006 – The USC Dance Troupe was awarded by Mayor Tomas Osmeña as an “Outstanding Institution in the field of Culture and Arts” during the Cebu City Charter Day celebration.
Badminton Club
The USC Badminton Club is one of the special interest groups established by the Physical Education Department since 1970. The Club was organized to accommodate the students enrolled in PE 13 and 14 who want to excel in this particular sport.
Dance Club
The USC Dance Club is composed of dance enthusiasts enrolled in the basic PE courses. It aims to develop students’ skills in creating and choreographing dance and provide opportunity to develop and promote good relations among the members.
Martial Arts Club
The USC Martial Arts Club is an organization mainly composed of students taking up PE 13 and PE 14. USC is the only University which offers Hyoho Niten Ichiryu Kenjutsu as part of the Physical Education program. Its aim is to promote humility, respect, honor, and courage to the members through the study of classical Japanese martial arts.
Adapted PE
The Adapted Physical Education program is designed to provide wholesome activities that would fit the needs and interests of PE students with physical disabilities. The activities are varied in scope so students can have more options.
